To support their units on trees and seasons, first grade classes adopted a tree this year. They watched their trees change through the seasons. It was fun watching the students grow too.
Scientists in Mrs. Fox’s class used their knowledge of frogs to complete these masterpieces. They also wrote facts they learned about a frog’s habitat, diet, body parts, and life cycle.
Kindergarten biologists in Mrs. Hornsby’s class have been studying life cycles and metamorphosis in science. They learned about symmetry and measured their butterfly’s wing span with nonstandard units. I love to see science integrated with other disciplines!
Remember the sweet chocolate colored chicks we hatched last fall? Well, they are all grown up and having chicks of their own! The rooster in the picture is Mo. He had a yellow Mohawk when he was a chick.
