Pre-K students continued their study of the ocean with a lab about shells and the animals who live in them. We know that scientists classify, and we began lab by classifying our classmates. We formed groups using one common attribute- age, gender, color of shoes, curly or straight hair, etc. Then we learned the names of some common shells before we each classified our own bag of shells. At the end of lab, we observed our hermit crabs and learned about their body parts and habitat. Although I don’t have photos of this lab, I wanted to share these cute crabs they made in their classroom with Mrs. Lilge.
