We had a beautiful fall day for our field trip to Scottsdale Farms! Thanks to Mrs. Reedy and Mrs. Gammage for driving the buses, to the parents and grandparents who joined us, and of course to the Gianturcos for their generosity. We were divided into three groups and each group rotated through three activities. Then we dined together outside overlooking the pumpkin patch. I was with one of the groups, so you will see more pictures of those children who were with me.
My daughter, Kelsey, is a member of a SIFE team (renamed ENACTUS this week) that won the National Championship last spring. There are over 600 teams on college campuses across the United States. University students in Enactus use the business knowledge they are learning in their classrooms and apply it to real world situations to help those in need. From this past Sunday through today, the World Cup was held in Washington DC. Thirty-eight nations shared their projects and Team USA advanced to the top 16 yesterday, to the final four this afternoon, and then became world champions tonight! So excited to see how these students are changing our world. What an incredible organization! Praise God!
So fun to watch this on my activboard!
We were all dressed in red, white, and blue from the tops of our heads to the tips of our shoes!
We are learning to round to the nearest 10.
Later in the year, we will work on rounding to the nearest 100.
We have so many talented parents at KRCS! Before we ate a fun guitar snack created by Davis’ mom, Davis’ dad shared his musical gifts with us.
Ben’s dad also shared his musical gifts with the children a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, it was the Friday I was sick and I wasn’t there to take any pictures. The children are still talking about the double neck guitar!
How blessed we are to be at a school where I catch children
praising God on their dry erase boards.
We had our first science test today.
We drew a fun face on a cup, then poked a drainage hole in the bottom, and planted grass seed to grow “hair”. We can’t wait to give them haircuts!
