CRN Service Project

A representative from CRN (Childrens Restoration Network) visited our class to explain the mission of this wonderful organization and the ways in which we can support their goal to enable homeless women and children. Please visit this link to find out more about CRN.

Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to make 10 birthday baskets with everything a mother would need to throw a birthday party for her child. The baskets were filled with cake mix, frosting, candles, wrapping paper, a birthday card, paper products, a gift card, and lots of other small items to make a child’s birthday special. The children assembled the baskets and presented them to the CRN representative.

Kelsey Graduates

Today was Kelsey’s last day of college. In this photo she is preparing to leave for her first day of kindergarten. I’ve written and then deleted the next few sentences several times. My emotions are all over the place. Over the moon happy for her but realizing that my little girl is an adult and ready to begin a new chapter in her life… and feeling so blessed to have shared her journey. I chose a picture book for her for graduation entitled If I Could Keep You Little by Marianne Richmond. The author recounts all the amazing moments she would have missed if her child had stayed little. On the last page the child is graduating and the accompanying text is, “If I could keep you little, I’d keep you close to me. But then I’d miss you growing into who you’re meant to be!” Each day with our children is a gift.

Graduation Day!

Thanks from Sierra Leone

The KRCS Lower School collected school supplies for the mission school in Sierra Leone (SLIMS) on the 100th Day of School. Thanks again for sending in all those dry erase boards and markers. These pictures say it all!

Do you remember the sweet letters our class received from these second graders?
